Flu relief, appreciation night
The staff and volunteers who worked tirelessly during the flu relief efforts of ADK Hospital were commemorated for their contributions to relieve the country from the Influenza outbreak last month. The Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
During the function, the Managing Director of the Hosiptal, Mr Ahmed Afaal made a presentation where the flu relief effort and the burden of flu in the hospital were highlighted. According to the Managing Director, the hospital saw an increase in the numebr of consultations starting the first week of February. He also said that the hospital conducted a flu clinic for 9 days and 9 mobile flu clinics in a 4 day period. He also highlighted other statistics of the works carried out by the Hosiptal. It was noted that all the flu cliniscs were conducted free of charge and a total of MVR 2.5 Million was spent on the efforts as part of the hospital's corporate social responsibility.

He concluded his speech thanking all the staff, volunteers and all others who helped wholeheartedly during the flu control efforts of the Hosiptal.
The Minister of Health, Abdulla Nazim in his speech praised the Hospital and its staff for the exceptional work and initiative taken for the flu relief efforts and recognised these efforts with thanks and gratitude.
Certificates of appreciation were given to some 140 people who actively contributed to the flu relief operation. The Chairman of ADK Group, Mr. Ahmed Nashid, MD of the Hospital Mr Ahmed Afaal and the Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim distributed the certificates.
The even was concluded with a dinner and entertainment.
